4.0 out of 5 stars - Fresh look at an old text
November 4, 2019

Passion and biblical knowledge abound in this book by Maurice A. Williams. First off, be prepared for some pretty strong beliefs and bible-based opinions in this book. William's essential takes this religious text as fact, although he has questions about the modern day interpretation of some biblical stories. Although I can’t say that I agreed with most or any of what Williams was writing I found this material to be fascinating from a historical and anthropological perspective.

Williams’ own convictions and high self-praise actually made this read all the more enjoyable. There was something about his intense convictions that had me so interested. In this book, Williams takes the reader through the Book of Revelations and picks it apart with finite detail and focus. He takes both an historical and futuristic perspective which is a unique viewpoint and one I’ve never encountered. This is absolutely a fresh look at an old text. I am so impressed with his abundance of knowledge on this subject as well as his determination in disseminating his message. He took the time to re-write an older version at the age of 84! That takes serious commitment!

I recommend this book to anyone who can read it with an open mind and can appreciate it as a well-organized, researched piece of religious literature. You don’t have to agree in order to appreciate a new perspective and new ideas. One of my favorite lines in the book is” Whatever you think is true really is true for you, but your truth might differ from what someone else might think is true.” I absolutely love this outlook and I agree completely. What are facts? What are truths? A lot of what we consider to be both of those things are just a matter of perspective. This book is definitely food for thought.
